Between last March and this offseason, we’re noticing a power shift in NEPSAC girls basketball.
Tilton captured the AAA crown last year, marking the first time since 2018-19 that a school not named Nobles or Tabor won in NEPSAC’s highest class. Darrow stunned in its first AA season by reaching the championship game, and that’s just the start for a class that should field another competitive championship battle among its top teams. And there are more storylines from Class A on down.
Last year was our inaugural run chronicling the NEPSAC Top 10. My first preseason crystal ball went... OK. Five of my top six teams stayed in that range, but four other Top 10 programs fell out of the rankings by season's end. There's plenty of room for similar chaos and jostling for position this year.
