It’s only December, but there’s already plenty of madness happening across New England prep school basketball.
Our latest list of top performers include a record shooting performance, a big effort from a NEPSAC Class A player in an upset victory of a Class AAA program and one player’s contributions in a 50-game winning streak for Putnam Science.
Coaches and players are encouraged to submit nominations for our stars of the week. If doing so, please email me at steve.hewitt@basketballjournal.com or by connecting with us or tagging us on Twitter/X (@steve_hewitt or @nehoopjournal) and Instagram (@nebasketballjournal). Be sure to include stats and any context to the player’s performance.
Here are 12 stars from last week, covering Dec. 9-15.

A second consecutive nod for Egbuonu on this list, the Marquette commit scored 27 points – including 17 in the second half and a few monster dunks – in Lawrence’s victory over Wilbraham & Monson. A day later, he scored 20 points in the Spartans’ win over Groton.
Chase Geremia, Newman
Class of 2026, 6-2 guard
Hometown: Madison, Conn.

Geremia showed why he’s arguably the best 3-point shooting prospect from New England, breaking a Newman program record with 12 made 3-pointers in the Cardinals’ win over Diamond Doves OTE at the Track at New Balance last Tuesday. The Penn commit scored a career-high 39 points in the win as he shattered the previous record of seven triples, which was shared by him and his older brother, Hudson, who now plays at Assumption.
Louis O’Keefe, Newman
Class of 2026, 6-3 guard
Hometown: Nashville, Tenn.
NCAA: Princeton
Sharing the same floor as Deron Rippey, Jr., considered the best point guard prospect in the country, O’Keefe more than held his own on Saturday in a close loss to Blair Academy at the Scholar Roundball Classic. He produced 18 points with six assists and directed the offense well with his pace, decision-making and leadership.
Jake Reardon, St. Paul’s
Class of 2027, 6-5 wing
