The Nickerson Showcase at Nobles provided some much-needed clarity on the NEPSAC girls basketball hierarchy — but in many ways, it also made things more confusing.
One thing we know for sure: Class AAA is stacked and evenly-matched. Seven of the eight schools appear in this week's Top 10, including one rankings debutant. Almost every AAA school seems capable of beating each other on a given night and only one is still undefeated.
Also at Nickerson: a Class B Small program took down a Class AAA program in overtime. Multiple Class B Large and Small upsets went down. I'll have multiple servings of individual standouts from Nickerson coming in the next few days, but we'll start with assessing the team pictures via this Top 10 update.
This will also be the last ranking for a few weeks as prep schools enter winter vacations.
